The work ‘Smashed Memories’ is a reflection on our human need for a place to call home, and the interconnection between the physical structure and the metaphorical meaning of what we call home.

The smashed together ceramics show the material surface of what a home used to be, exploring how an abandon house immediately creates a universal feeling of sadness. The outer shape still holds the idea of a home, hanging in mid air, bound together by a strap, tightening it while hanging.
